Achieving a dream goal is never a bed of roses. There are many hurdles to be passed. Sabyasachi Mukherjee's story will inspire you to keep moving forward towards your goal, no matter what the situation may be. 


Born in a middle-class Bengali family, he led a difficult life since childhood. Mukherjee had a keen interest in handicrafts and craftsmanship. Even during the tough times, when his father lost his job, he never thought of giving up on his dream of becoming a fashion designer.
He decided to sell out the old books and used the money for NIFT exam. His continuous effort in studies made the vision clear after graduating from NIFT in 1999.   

This motivated him to begin with the label "Sabyasachi" and started the store with only three employees. His talent helped him to win the award for "Femina British Council’s Most Outstanding Young Designer of India" in 2001 and got a chance to do an internship with the world's best fashion designers.

The man was receiving immense praise from everyone and this was just the beginning. With the passage of time, he participated in several fashion shows across the world and ended up winning the "Grand winner award" at the New Asia Fashion Week.

The label "Sabyasachi" attained fame across the globe and he was asked to showcase his collection in several fashion events and 2006 became the turning point of his life. 
Sabyasachi is an artist who achieved his dream goal despite all unfavorable conditions, and today, every girl dreams of wearing Sabyasachi outfit for at least once in a lifetime. The label is now one of the most successful fashion houses of entire southern Asia. 

Sabyasachi has designed costumes for several movies, shows, and B-town celebrities. Recently married Bollywood celebs Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Priyanka Chopra chose to wear a Sabyasachi wedding dress. Apart from our national beauties, International actresses who opted for Sabyasachi are Renée Zellweger and Reese Witherspoon.
From the last 15 years, Sabyasachi outfits continue to win the hearts of people from all over the world. With such an in-depth knowledge that he has on Indian crafts and artistry, he is certainly a caretaker of our heritage
